I too am looking for a good fruitcake recipe. I used to have a recipe for Smallwood Fruitcake I think it was.... that one had around a dozen eggs. I've not made a dark fruitcake in awhile and cannot find my old recipe. Anyone have a moist dark fruitcake recipe?

Hey all. I hope somone can help me out, as it's starting to get late to be making a fruitcake for this Christmas, so I have to shake a leg! Can someone give me the recipie for Smallwood Christmas Cake? It's a dark fruitcake, very rich and delicious.
I remember the ingredients...spices, fruit and so on, but not the proportions of flour, sugar and butter, though I remember it has 3 eggs. I would be very grateful if someone could help me out.

Thanks!

hi, my grammie used to make a smoked but and cabbage in a broth with potatoes and carrots , onions but towards the end she would add a dough with raisins in a cheese cloth. It picked up the smoky ham flavour and she called it a duff or wet bread, it was so yummy. Does anyone have a similar recipe? Thanks, I would be so very grateful. Marie
