Like many Newfoundland kitchens, mine is full of great food and lively music. Come on in, browse around, drool over the recipes, and catch up with some local music. Welcome to my Kitchen!

Hi! geraldine …I found a recipe for Jam Jams on the net…It’s mostly molasses in the recipe…If that’s the right one..Just put “a recipe for Jam Jams” in google search, but check on Canada only….
Hey there! I saw your comment on today’s Pioneer Woman post (I didn’t win either). I had to stop in…we’re just booking a trip to NFLD for a wedding in August. I could fly to Australia from Vancouver for what it costs to fly to NFLD – you’d never know it’s in the same country. Anyway – love your recipes!! Cool blog.
Gearldine…I found the recipe for ‘Jam Jams ‘…….. 1 cup butter,1 egg, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. molasses, and 2 tsp. b.soda dissolved in 3 tbsp. of boiling water..enough flour to make a soft dough.Roll and cut out with cookie cutters. Bake 10-12 minutes. While hot spread with Jam and place two together… Hope this is the right recipe…Enjoy!!
I am married to a Newfoundlander (we live in wisconsin, us) and I would love to see Newfoundland someday! He has taught me many great recipes and food ideas! Before we met I never even heard of vinegar on fish n chips or molasses cake or boiled dinner and now I just cannot get enough! This is an awesome site!
BTW I have a recipe that calls for something called “Good Luck” but do not know what it is. Can someone help us out?
