Sweet & Sour Sauce

I usually use this sweet & sour with my Very Best Meatballs. It is quite yummy brushed onto baking chicken, or pork, as well.

Sweet & Sour Sauce

1.5 cups ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
2 tsp honey
3 tsp soya sauce
1.5 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
cracked black pepper, to taste

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook gently for five or six minutes, until all ingredients are completely dissolved.

If you are using this sauce with my Very Best Meatballs, pour over baking meatballs a half hour into cook time, and continue baking an additional half hour.
